INSIDE: Roam the Gnome’s Guide to Sofitel High Tea Sydney Experience.
The Sofitel Sydney High Tea experience is an elegant afternoon for groups of women (and the odd man) celebrating friendship, baby showers, birthdays, engagements and weddings.
But the ones we love best are the themed high teas for families with children.
The Sofitel Sydney Wentworth Hotel in the Sydney CBD is the perfect venue for such a treat, and is ideal for kids from 5-12 years old.
You’ll dine and drink tea in the surrounds of the Tea Lounge, and be treated like a VIP from the moment you enter the door.
If you’re lucky, you’ll find a themed high tea experience for the whole family, just like we did.

Guide to Sofitel Sydney High Tea
Don’t think that a Sydney high tea experience is just for girls.
My boys LOVE to dress up in their finery for a very special meal, and they surprise me every time with their ability to sit still, converse like adults, and not resort to kicking one another under the table.
They definitely rise to the occasion.
Sofitel High Tea Sydney for Kids
Two adults share a traditional high tea three-tiered plate stand.
When themed high tea for kids is available, children are given their OWN rectangular platter with a smaller selection of goodies.
The personal plate for each child is an inspired touch – sharing cute food would never be easy.
Sofitel High Tea Menu
There’s sweet treats galore at Sofitel Sydney High Tea.
In fact, one might say the sweets are the highlight, AND the reason for booking high tea.
Sometimes, a platter full of decadent sugary nourishment is just what you need to show kindness to yourself and your friends.
The Wentworth High Tea Menu
Dare you to leave anything on your plate.
- Raspberry Cannelé
- Green Tea Financier
- Passion Fruit Macaron
- Wentworth Cheesecake

Of course, high tea includes one hot drink.

- hot chocolate for the non-coffee drinkers.
Frozen High Tea Sydney
We loved the themed Frozen High Tea for kids!
It was the Olaf Religieuse that did it.
Religieuse is made of two choux pastry cases, one larger than the other, filled with crème pâtissière, and decorated with the cheeky face of everyone’s favourite Snowman.
How could anyone resist?
We traipsed into Sydney, four kids in tow, to wolf down one of these incredibly cute Olaf-inspired French pastries!
This sweet treat was part of a Disney-inspired “Frosted” high tea, inspired by the multi-award winning and the highest-grossing animated Disney film of all time, Frozen.
This worldwide hit continues to resonate with boys and girls of all ages, so a feast of yummy delights, both sweet and savoury, was never going to be a hard sell.
As lifelong Disney fans who don’t live anywhere near a park, we also cannot pass up a Disney-inspired experience of any kind in Australia.
We were surprised and delighted by the attention to detail and the theming of the table setting, put in place by the lovely staff at the Sofitel.
We all loved:
- the elegant table setting
- the snowy ornaments
- the frosted decorations
- the bling bling napkin rings
The Sofitel Sydney Wentworth High Tea experience in the Frozen theme was priced at $65 per adult and $29 per child.
Frozen High Tea Menu
- Salmon Quiche
- Bao Bun with Shrimp
- Cucumber, Cream and Herb Sandwich
- Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta
- Elsa’s Frosted Macarons (we think Elsa would approve)
- Anna’s Blueberry Tartlet
- Olaf Religieuse
- Snow Meringue
- Snow Ball Cookie
- Vanilla Frost Cup Cake
- Housemade Scones (plain and raisin) with cream & Blueberry Jam
Children’s Disney Frozen High Tea-jinx
The children’s Frozen High Tea menu was similar:
- Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta
- Elsa’s Frosted Macarons
- Olaf Religieuse
- Vanilla Frost Cup Cake
- Snowball cookie
- Cucumber Finger Sandwich
- A Chicken Brioche instead of Shrimp Bao.
Frozen Activity Pack included!
Did I mention that the Frozen High Tea also included a Frozen Activity Pack for each child?
Who could ask for more?
